About the Teacher


Education and Experience: This is my sixteenth year in education and second in the community based setting. I graduated from Delta State University in May 2000 with a bachelor's degree in elementary education and from Lamar University in Beaumont, TX in May 2017 with a master's degree in special education with a concentration in Autism Spectrum Disorders. I have been with DeSoto County Schools since August of 2000 with one year teaching in Rankin County (2001 - 2002) and eight years staying home with my children. I have taught third through sixth grades general education, special education inclusion third through fifth grades, been a multi-disciplinary educational team co-chair, and worked as a Positive Behavior Specialist in DeSoto County Schools from August 2019 - May 2022. Additionally, I am involved in the special needs ministry at my church through monthly class volunteering, summer Vacation Bible School, and with the Arc of NW MS in Camp Bold and their summer job experience program for individuals ages 14-21 with special needs.  

Certification(s): I hold certifications in Elementary Education, K-12 English, K-12 Social Studies, and K-12 Mild/Moderate Disabilities.
