8th Grade US History

In 8th grade History, we will start the year off working on note-taking skills. Students will create and use interactive notebooks.  The interactive notebook enables students to record information in a more engaging way. As students learn new ideas, they use several types of writing and innovative graphic techniques to record them. Then they process those ideas. There will be more emphasis on reading, writing, speaking, and listening.  Students will be required to write and read everyday and take notes. Our main focus this school year is GROWTH!

The 8th grade history course will cover 6 units of study:

  • The Road to Revolution
  • From Confederation to Constitution
  • A More Perfect Union
  • The Early Republic
  • A Changing Country
  • The Dividing Nation
